Georgia Seal (Line Drawing)
This line drawing of the Georgia state seal first appeared in the mid-1950s. Though the version it replaced looked more like the obverse (front) of the bronze Great Seal used by the Secretary of State to authenticate laws, this modernized version was cleaner in appearance. Interestingly, no modernized rendering of the reverse of the Great Seal has been done to accompany this seal. Though never officially adopted by the General Assembly, the seal shown above has been used on state publications for the past four decades.
