Sick Civil War Soldier Wrote Wife from Hospital
A Georgia soldier wrote to his wife from a hospital, telling her of his illness.
“…I was sent of from the regt last Monday sick an I got here last night. I am in a very good hospital I think but the doctor said this morning he was going to send me further south in a day or two. … My Dear do not be uneasy about me for I do not think I am dangerously sick. I will write again before long an when I get to the Hospital where to am to be sent to. …”
