Victory over Spanish Noted in Journal
“Before I got to Savannah the good news was come of the Spaniards being all fled and gone out to Sea on Thursday morning last, leaving upwards of 200 men behind them slain, besides many wounded and Prisoners; but no Naval Strength had appear’d from Charles Town, or elsewhere to keep them in, which was the finishing stroke we had wished for… .”
