Mary Hood Born

Noted short-story writer Mary Hood was born in Brunswick, Georgia. Hood’s first collection, How Far She Went, was published in 1984 and won the Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction. In 1986, she followed with a second collection, And Venus is Blue, which garnered multiple awards.
