Martial Law Declared over State Offices

With a civil court withholding the dispersement of $2.5 million in state highway funds, Governor Eugene Talmadge declared martial law over the state highway department, the comptroller general’s office, the state treasurer, the secretary of state, and the office of the supervisor of purchases.
