Jackie Robinson Contract Bought by Brooklyn Dodgers

Jackie Robinson became the first black player in major league baseball when the Brooklyn Dodgers bought his contract from the Montreal Royals of the International League. Robinson appeared in a Dodger uniform the next day, though he would not actually play until April 15.
