Crawford Long Stamp Issued

The U.S. Post Office issued a new two-cent stamp commemorating Crawford Long as part of its Famous American series of stamps. First day of issue ceremonies were held in Jefferson, Georgia, Long’s hometown and site where he performed the first surgery where a patient was under anesthesia.
