Wyche Fowler Won Run-Off Election

Wyche Fowler won a run-off special election to fill the seat of 5th congressional district congressman Andrew Young, who had resigned to become U.S. ambassador to the United Nations. Fowler defeated John Lewis by a vote of 54,378 to 32,732.
