Jim Harrick Hired

Athletic director Vince Dooley announced that Rhode Island basketball coach Jim Harrick was the University of Georgia’s new head basketball coach. In 1995, Harrick lead UCLA to the national championship. In his two years at Rhode Island, Harrick lead the team to its highest national ranking in history. Harrick would lead the Bulldogs for four seasons but off-court controversies led him to resign in 2003.
