Depression Cuts to Georgia Budget

In the midst of the Depression, Governor Eugene Talmadge announced plans to cut over two million dollars from Georgia’s general appropriations budget in both 1934 and 1935. Without divulging the details of his cuts, Talmadge did say that they would go “all the way down the line and cut all expenditures to the bone.”
