Hardee Placed in Temporary Command of Army in Georgia

Confederate President Jefferson Davis accepted the resignation of General Braxton Bragg, submitted on November 28 after the loss of Chattanooga. Native Georgian General William J. Hardee was named temporary commander of the Confederate army then in Georgia.
