Mistaken War Items Printed
The Daily Intelligencer of Atlanta printed a war situation item, which turned out to be mistaken regarding the parts related to Georgia.
Longstreet had not taken Knoxville, and the Union army in Chattanooga would not be abandoning the city, but attacking and driving Bragg’s army back into Georgia - his being unprepared for this attack would lead to his resignation.
