Soldier Enjoyed View from Lookout Mountain
A Georgia soldier stationed near Chattanooga wrote his wife, telling her of the nice view he had seen, and pining to come home.
“…I was up on top of Lookout Mountain and took a grand view of everything for many miles around. Our present camp is near the foot of the mountain. Molly, I will try and come home this winter and some time I think if they don’t let me go I will go anyhow, but my honor would be injured and I may had as well be dead as to lose my honor. …” Source: Ronald H.
