Confederates Fell Back; “Cracker Line” Established

The Confederate forces who had attempted to halt the establishment of the “Cracker Line” to supply one Union troops fell back to Lookout Mountain, overlooking Chattanooga. The Union army in the city could now be sufficiently supplied.
