Letter Feared Subjugation by North

The Southern Recorder of Milledgeville reprinted a letter from a Mobile, AL newspaper, penned by a woman very devoted to the Southern cause. This letter is another example of how the South feared total subjugation by the North if they lost the war. While many of the fears were unfounded, there was considerable economic and social turmoil following the war.
