Davis Recognized Contributions from Georgia

Confederate President Jefferson Davis and Georgia Governor Joseph E. Brown had their differences, primarily over the Conscription Law, and they were often played out in the press. But on this one occasion at least Davis acknowledged to Brown that Georgia had provided an ample number of volunteers for military service. The Daily Intelligencer of Atlanta printed the note from Davis to Brown.
