Rumors of Army Moving to Tennessee

A Georgia soldier wrote his wife from Virginia, concerning rumors that some of the army might be sent to Tennessee.

“…I hear of no war news only some think we will be sent to Tennessee but I hope not. My Dear I will send you one dollar of our change money. I could send you a little more but I am afraid to send it by mail. tell our little children that I will come home to see them as soon as I can. …” Source: Katherine S.
