Andersonville Surgeon Reported on Deplorable Conditions

A surgeon at Camp Sumter - Andersonville prison - reported to Confederate officials that conditions at the prison were deplorable; beds for the sick prisoners were without straw, rations were often inedible, and the hospitals on post were without medicine.
