Battle of Second Manassas Concluded
The Union commander - John Pope - attacked the Confederates on the decisive day of the Battle of Second Manassas (Bull Run). Native Georgian James Longstreet and his men had arrived the previous day and set up along the Union flank, where they first delivered withering artillery fire, then charged and routed the Union army, resulting in another Confederate victory at this location.
