Battle of Second Manassas Began

In what marked the beginning of the Battle of Second Manassas (Bull Run), Stonewall Jackson attacked the Union forces near Manassas Junction. The result of this day’s fighting was a stalemate.

A number of the Okefenokee Rifles from Georgia were wounded in the action on this day.
