Macon Newspaper Printed Three War Items
The Georgia Weekly Telegraph of Macon reprinted a proclamation from Confederate President Jefferson Davis, requesting all citizens of the United States currently in the Confederate States, to leave within forty days.
They also published an article offering hope that the Northern blockade of Southern ports would soon end.
Finally, in an editorial, they suggested it would be best to let the military leaders, not newspaper editors, conduct the war.
