Battle of Brown’s Mill

One of the few Confederate successes of the Atlanta Campaign took place on this day with the Battle of Brown’s Mill - where a force of Union cavalry sent to destroy railroads to the southwest of Atlanta, was trapped and captured - although they had successfully destroyed the railroad.
