Still Defiant Editorials from Milledgeville

The Southern Recorder of Milledgeville printed an editorial defiantly arguing that death would be preferable to “subjugation” under Yankee rule, but still maintaining hope that the invading Union forces could be beaten back.

The Confederate Union of Milledgeville also maintained a defiant tone, while admitting the situation was “not so favorable as we could desire.”
