Report on Kennesaw Mountain Mentioned Hardee
The Richmond Times Dispatch had another brief report on the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain, which mentioned native Georgian General William J. Hardee in a good light.
Further from Georgia.
Private information received through the Signal Corps, from a general officer in Atlanta, dated June 27th, represents Hardee’s corps as having been principally engaged on our side in the attack on our lines, referred to in Gen Johnston’s dispatch, and that the repulse was attended with great slaughter of the enemy.
