Battle of Glendale

The fifth of the Seven Days Battles - the Battle of Glendale (among many other names) - took place. Native Georgian James Longstreet led an attack designed to cut the Army of the Potomac in two. Although this attempt was unsuccessful, Union General George McClellan continued his withdrawal to Malvern Hill.
