Vain Hope for Peace

The Southern Confederacy of Atlanta published the results of a letter they had received which carried a hopeful, but unfortunately very inaccurate, prediction about the war. Published on the same page was an account from the First Georgia Regiment in Virginia, which noted with appreciation the country they were passing through.
