Soldier Impressed with Pennsylvania Wheat
A Georgia soldier on the march with the Army of Northern Virginia wrote a brief note to his wife.
“Here is the names of the towns we have been in since we come back in the U.S. This is the greatest wheat country in the world. I never saw the like! June 26th - Into Maryland.
