Problem for CSS Chattahoochee

The boiler on the CSS Chattahoochee, built at Saffold, Georgia, exploded as she was leaving port in Florida. The ship was taken to Columbus for repairs, but was eventually scuttled as Union troops approached the city in 1864. Her remains would be raised in 1963 and are now housed at the Civil War Naval Museum in Columbus.
