A Georgia soldier wrote home to his wife; he was involved in General Stonewall Jackson’s Shenandoah Valley campaign - and had been very busy!
“…I know you are very uneasy about me. I have written three letters to you since the 12th and have not had an opportunity of mailing them. Since that time we have marched over two hundred miles fought two battles, gained two victories. I could have mailed a letter from Madison C.H. but was compelled to have my shoes mended as I was almost barefooted. …
