Lee Wrote Governor Brown Asking for Firearms

Georgia Governor Joseph E. Brown received a letter from General Robert E. Lee, noting that while many Georgia volunteer companies were arriving in Virginia, many of them did not have weapons, and Lee asked Brown if Georgia could send any firearms or other equipment.
