Rare Positive Diary Entry
Julia Johnson Fisher finally had something positive to write in her diary, but still wanted to find a way home.
How rejoiced I am. Had a letter from Mary. I have held on to it nearly all day and read it I know not how many times–how can I stay here any longer? It is too irksome. If I could I would go today. We hear nothing from Savannah. It is foolish for me to write. Source: Julia Johnson Fisher, 1814-1885 Diary, 1864
