April 26, 1864

One Citizen Agreed with Governor Brown, Some Soldiers Did Not

Georgia Governor Joseph E. Brown had received a lot of criticism in the press for his public disagreements with the Confederate government. But the Confederate Union of Milledgeville printed a letter on this day from a citizen who agreed with Governor Brown.

The Southern Recorder of Milledgeville printed some excerpts from soldiers’ letters which were not so supportive of the Governor.
