Editorial Argued for Peace and Independence Won on Battlefield

The Southern Recorder of Milledgeville reprinted an editorial from an Augusta newspaper on what terms the South should look for in any peace talks; but their argument was still that peace could only be found through independence won by successes on the battlefield. In other words, there was little hope for peace except by military victory, or as the case would be, defeat.
