Howell Cobb Took Command of Reserve Corps of Georgia
From Macon, General Howell Cobb took command of the Reserve Corps of Georgia, then providing the guards at Camp Sumter near Andersonville. This force was mainly boys under the age of seventeen and men over fifty; some of the boys were so small they could barely see over the prison walls from the pigeon roosts.
