Article on Proposal to Ban Cotton Growing Except for Seed
The Richmond Times Dispatch carried a brief item on Georgia Governor Joseph E. Brown calling on the legislature to to prohibit the growing of cotton except for seed.
The Georgia Legislature to be Convened.
Augusta, March 12.
–Gov. Brown will convene the Legislature of this State on the 25th inst., and will recommend a stringent prohibition of the cultivation of more cotton than is needed for seed; also, the prohibition of the distillation of articles of food.
