The Richmond Times Dispatch printed a brief item on Confederate Vice-President and native Georgian Alexander Stephens; he was then at his home in Crawfordville, Georgia recovering from an illness.

–This distinguished gentleman is now at his residence in Crawfordsville, Ga., and has recovered from his late illness so as to be able to walk about and resume, to some site at, correspondence with his friends.
