Two Examples of Soldiers’ Death from Disease
A private enlisted in Georgia’s 64th Regiment on this day; his service would be short and tragic - he would be captured in June and die in captivity in September.
A corporal in Georgia’s 28th Regiment died of pneumonia while in captivity on this day. These two examples are further evidence that more soldiers died from disease than from battle during the Civil War.
