Suwannee River

The Suwannee River originates in the Okefenokee Swamp in Charlton County, Georgia. It then flows southwestward, entering Florida after crossing the Echols County border. In Florida the Suwannee is joined by a tributary, which also originates in Georgia, the Alapaha River. Altogether the Suwannee River flows for approximately 265 miles before emptying into the Gulf of Mexico.
