Letter Mentioned Victory at Chickamauga
A Georgia soldier writing to his wife from near Chattanooga mentioned the victory at Chickamauga, although not by name.
“…I have had some very narrow escapes from shells but not hurt yet. You must continue to pray for me. The Yankee still hold the city but it is reported that we have their supplies cut off, but I don’t know. We whipped them very bad last Saturday and Sunday. …”
