Letter Compared Different Types of Soldiers

The Southern Confederacy of Atlanta published a letter from a soldier stationed at Fredericksburg, who was enjoying camp life between campaigns, but then had some harsh words for conscripted soldiers and substitutes, as opposed to volunteers. He also related a moving story about the death of Georgia soldier from smallpox - contracted while helping to nurse another soldier back to health.
