Supreme Court Decided NCAA v. UGA Lawsuit
The U.S. Supreme Court in the case of NCAA v. Board of Regents of the University of Oklahoma and University of Georgia Athletic Association ruled that that individual colleges and conferences are free to negotiate their own TV package deals. This ruling was the culmination of a lawsuit filed jointly by the University of Georgia and the University of Oklahoma on behalf of the new College Football Association, which was created to promote the interests of the major college football powers in the NCAA.
