Lincoln Rescinded Fremont Order Freeing Slaves

President Abraham Lincoln requested that John C. Fremont (born in Savannah, but fighting for the Union) rescind his order freeing some slaves in Missouri and issue a new order conforming to the Confiscation Act approved by Congress August 6. See the text of the order here.
