Union Army Built Bridges Across Chattahoochee
Union Army engineers and work crews were busy rebuilding another bridge across the Chattahoochee River that had been burned by the Confederates - this one a 650-foot-long wooden bridge at Roswell. This would be one of several sites where Sherman’s full army would cross the Chattahoochee over the following week.
