St. Marys River

St. Marys (St. Mary's) River

The St. Marys River originates in the Okefenokee Swamp in Charlton County, flows southward, then eastward for a short stretch, then northward, then eastward again - forming the Georgia/Florida border. Altogether the St. Marys River is approximately 90 miles long. It empties into the Atlantic Ocean near the city of St. Marys, south of Cumberland Island.
