In Effingham County, in a forest area just off Ga. Hwy. 575, a small granite stone marks the site of the original Salzburger settlement of Ebenezer. The marker makes a simple statement:

When it was erected and by whom is not indicated on the marker, although it is believed to have been placed there in the late 1970s.
