Captain Matthew Talbot Nunnally, Commanding Officer, Co. H, 11th Ga. Regiment Voluntary Infantry, and his brother 1st Sergeant Josiah Elam Nunnally of Walton County, Ga.
 
Photo at Richmond, Va., spring or early summer 1862. The accessories are photo props.
 
Matthew Talbot Nunnally, born 3/18/1839 and killed 7/2/1863. Entered U.S. Military Academy in 1859, resigned effective 2/2/1861 and took a commission in Confederate Army on 7/3/1861 as Captain, Co. H, 11th Ga. Regiment Voluntary Infantry. Killed at Gettysburg, Pa., 7/2/1863 -- Longstreet's attack. 
 
Josiah Elam Nunnally, born 1/1/1835 and died 3/17/1908. 1st Sergeant, Co. H, 11 Ga. Regiment Volunteer Infantry. Wounded in leg at Second Manassas (Bull Run) Virginia on 8/30/1862. Served in the Georgia Senate 1890-1891 and in the Georgia House 1892-1894.
