Lake Lanier

Lake Sidney Lanier

 

Lake Sidney Lanier is formed from Buford Dam over the Chattahoochee River northeast of Atlanta. The lake is in Hall and Forsyth Counties. The dam was constructed and the lake filled between 1950 and 1957. Lake Lanier covers 39,000 acres and has 692 miles of shoreline.
