James Jackson

James Jackson

1757 -1806

Career: active participant in the American Revolution; served Georgia as a state legislator and governor, helping to overturn the Yazoo Land Fraud; served as both a U.S. Representative and Senator. Jackson County created and named in his honor in 1796.
