Coosa River

Coosa River

The Coosa River originates at the confluence of the Oostanaula River and Etowah River in Floyd County. It flows westward, crossing the Alabama border. In Alabama, the Coose converges with the Tallapoosa River to form the Alabama River, which then flows southward into the Gulf of Mexico. Although the Coosa River does originate in Georgia, 90% of its course is in Alabama.
