Chestatee River

Chestatee River

The Chestatee River originates in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Lumpkin County, flows approximately 50 miles southward to empty into the Chattahoochee River. The Chattahoochee then goes on as Georgia's longest river, through Atlanta to the Georgia/Alabama border, then south through Columbus to Lake Seminole in Florida. The Apalachicola River emerges from the southern end of Lake Seminole and flows into the Gulf of Mexico.
